A prolific artist whose career covered both the Art Nouveau and
Art Deco periods, Seguy was one of the foremost French designers
of the first third of the 20th century. He drew his inspiration
primarily from nature, producing ornamental patterns derived from
flowers, foliage, minerals, insects and animals. The designs, all
hand-colored in pochoir, were considered so beautiful that they
were published as portfolios such as "Floréal", this collection
of 20 color plates of ornamental floral patterns in bright, vivid
colors.
Minor chipping and soiling to some plates; overall in very nice
condition.
