Andre-Edouard
Marty (1882 - 1974)
|
A student of philosophy as well as an artist, Marty was educated at the
Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. He went on to establish himself as a graphic
artist and was a frequent contributor to such publications as "Gazette
du Bon Ton," "Femina," "Vogue," and "Journal Des
Dames et Des Modes."
Marty worked in a geometric style with a simplicity and sweetness which
makes his illustrations quite endearing.
His skills with enamel produced many beautiful vases, bowls and jewelry.
Marty designed sets and costumes for the theater, posters and illustrated
many books including "Comoedia Illustre" 1909, "Constance dans
les cieux," 1925 and "L'Oiseau Bleu," 1945.
