Manufacture
Nationale de Sevres
|
This porcelain factory, established in the 18th century under French royal
patronage, produced Art Deco ceramics designed by well-known contemporary
artists. Henri Rapin, besides designing, was the factory's director from
1920-34.
Gensoli, who started as a decorator, 1921-27, was influential in bringing
the designs away from floral motifs toward the use of animal and figurative
subjects.
